Although Early Music as term of reference has now replaced 'ancien', 'old', or 'pre-classical music', performance problems remain much the same as before. This book offers fresh solutions for singers, players and directors. Originally entitled 'Musicology', it leaves out material of lesser interest, substituting new chapters and extensive revisions.
