Choral Singing: The Easy Way to Learn, Progress through Private Practice.
This CD series represents a completely new approach enabling choral singers to spend time practising their voice parts individually. The series includes the foremost works in the oratorio repertoire and is intended as a practical complement to group rehearsals.
For each voice part there is a separate CD featuring all the choral movements of the given work. Supplementary tracks offer help with practisiing difficult passages within individual movements.
Less experienced choral singers will find that the CD helps them to learn and practise their part between rehearsals. The series is also aimed at more experienced choral singers, however, who may need to extend their repertoire in a short space of time or who wish to develop a more detailed understanding of works that are already familiar to them.
Through the use of special recording techniques the CD offers assistance with learning a part in two stages:
-The music is first heard with the voice part in question given a particular prominence. The other voices are heard more softly in the background. The orchestral parts are played on the piano, as is usually the case at choral rehearsals.
-Next, the music is heard for a second time, but with the previously highlighted voice part entirely omitted. Now it is up to the individual singer to supply the missing part in the chorus. This version enables the singer to check carefully at any time to see how well the part has been mastered.
