In the study of the saxophone the 48 Etudes by Will Ferling play an important role. These well-known exercises are commonly used by advanced saxophone students to develop their technical and melodic skills. André Waignein has composed piano accompaniments to these Etudes, which will give this music a completely new dimension. On the CD, the demo tracks are played by Nobuya Sugawa; the tempo indication given by Ferling has been used, to give you an idea of how the Etudes are meant to sound. Some of the tempi are rather fast, so for a number of pieces we have provided play-along tracks that are a little slower.
