A century in words, pictures and music, "1800-1900", another volume in the "Masterpieces" series, provides a compact overview of the music and art of the 19th century. The most important paintings and musical works are presented with concise and informative notes. A comprehensive introduction details the most significant events of the century and examines their influence on painting and music.
