Notturno, for orchestra, Score

Notturno (1929) is a short work from Merikanto's most inventive and productive period and one in which the composer's originality and formal mastery is strongly present. Merikanto's depiction of night proceeds from a skilfully orchestrated sunset into dark and motionless nocturnal chorales.
