Diesen Walzer komponierte Franz Schubert für seinen Freund Leopold Kupelwieser anlässlich dessen Hochzeit mit Johanna von Lutz am 17. September 1826. Aufgeschrieben hat ihn am 4. Januar 1943, Richard Strauss in Wien.
Waltz composed on the occasion of his friend's Josef Kupelwieser marriage. Passed down by oral tradition before being transcribed by Richard Strauss (1943).
