In 1950, Harry Partch completed his eleven-part collection, setting texts by his literary contemporaries, including Ella Young, Willard Motley, George Leite and Giuseppe Ungaretti, as well as old writings by Ki No Tsurayuki and Lao-Tse. His intention was that every word should be heard and understood; He supports the text with evocative instrumental passages.
