Was Orpheus sah, Klangbilder, for string quartet, Score and parts

Everything Orpheus saw turned into sound. Full of emotions, he passed it on singing, and moved his environment. Those Klangbilder aim at this mysterious procedure. I Flügelschlag (beating the wings): the unexpected of the inner view. II Schattenwurf (casting a shadow): what do the pictures suggest? III Gestalten (figures): when approaching, three-dimensional figures take shape. Based on this atmospheric view, the first movement tends towards the strict sonata form, the second is an iridescent intermezzo, and the third culminates in introduction, theme and variations intensifying towards distant sounds.
