Ten songs for children's voices, recorders and Orff ensemble, designed to take children on a journey encompassing four modes, four countries and eight centuries, starting with troubadours of medieval France and culminating with settings of texts by 20th century poets Eleanor Farjeon and Sara Teesdale. The arrangements are designed to move successfully from the classroom into a performance situation.
