These Ten Duos from the first volume of 34 Duetti have been selected with pedagogic considerations in mind. They make up in their own right a small cycle of the easiest duos. lf desired, they can all be played in the first position. ln terms of musical substance, these ten pieces are in no way inferior to the more demanding Duetti. Each duo has its own title: The first names of people for whom Berio feels special friendship or respect (see index).
