This narrative is about the fate of Miss Ophelia who, with great ambition, tries to make a career as an actress, but only manages to become a prompter because of her small voice. Michael Ende tells a story about the leave-taking of the theatre world, about stray shadows, about the approaching death of Ophelia and about the transformation of her shadow theatre into a light stage.
