Based on the C Ionian mode, the composer uses a complex and dense harmonic approach as evidenced in voicings throughout this innovative work. Due to the chord clusters, blend and balance are of utmost importance. A solo is provided for trumpet, during which time the rhythm section allows the player space to improvise freely before initiating a groove.
