?Confidence", a composition in ABAC form, uses different stylistic elements taken from jazz, rock and classical music. Starting from the intro, with its bluesy character, the melody of the first section, performed in an almost impressionistic manner and contrapunctally accompanied by the other voices, sets essentially lyric accents. The B-section leads into very rhythmical and expressive dialogues. After the return to the quieter A-section, the final C-section follows, where the first voice dominates in an improvisation with a concluding cadence, which is supported by the other voices playing increasingly complex rhythms. In the intro and in the C-section, the player of the first voice can play either of the two transcribed solos by the composer or improvise. The same goes for the other voices in the two-bar improvisations in the B-section.
