The TEST collection presented here is aimed at providing students as well as teachers with material which enables them to test their respective level of performance and skill. The studies are well-suited for sight-reading exercises at entrance examinations or similar opportunities. They cover the most important instrumental ranges of percussion offering 4 studies for snare drum, 4 for timpani, 2 for set up, 2 for drum set and 2 each for glockenspiel, xylophone, vibraphone and marimba. Metronome indications are merely a means of orientation. The player is free to choose his vibraphone pedaling technique in order to develop his own style and sound by experimenting. Additionally, the studies can be used to compile mini suites in order to demonstrate and present the various groups of instruments.
