Ray Charles (comic book + 2 Cd)

Ray Charles Robinson, pompeusement surnommé par les médias américains « the genius », the « high priest of soul » ou encore plus simplement « brother Ray » n'était en fait à ses débuts qu'un petit gars de la campagne dont l'ambition se limitait à vivre de son chant et de son piano. Nourri aux sources du blues et du jazz, une petite place au soleil de la réussite aux côtés de ses frères qui, comme lui au début des années cinquante, avaient contribué à populariser le « Rhythm?n Blues » naissant lui aurait probablement suffi, mais voilà...notre homme était le seul à posséder l'arme fatale, une botte secrète insoupçonnable : le Gospel, dont il eut, au grand dam d'ailleurs de ses frères afro-américains, l'audace et le « génie » de transposer sur les scènes laïques les accents, les extases et les transes jusque là cantonnés aux lieux de culte. Le CD 1 est consacré aux enregistrements en studio de la période la plus créatrice du chanteur, les années cinquante : le CD 2 fait entendre Ray Charles à la même époque lors de plusieurs enregistrements en concert particulièrement torrides.
