Patti Smith: Simply a concert

In the centre of this book by photograper and artist Fabio Torre there's a series of black & white shots whose only subjects is Patti Smith. Taken at various concerts, these photos give us a composite portrait of the ethereal and rebellious muse Robert Mapplethorpe. What in fact emerges is not only the well known image of a great singer-songwriter and poet but also her surprising abilities as a performer, a real actress, with her own powerful physical language.
