Joaquín Rodrigo (190I - 1999) is probably the most important Spanish composer of the 20th century and, without a doubt, the Spanish composer most often heard of all times. His extensive production covers practically all genres of classical music, from the simple song to the symphonic poem, including concertos for orchestra and diverse instruments: piano, guitar (one, two and three), violin, cello, flute and harp. Highly in demand by the best orchestra directors, famous soloists and great publishers, Joaquin Rodrigo composed music that was modern, original, profoundly Spanish and respectful of classical canons. His works bear an unmistakably personal mark and reach their height with the very famous Concierto de Aranjuez.
Rodrigo was blind from the age of three, but that did not keep him from living a fascinating life, being a friend of extraordinary people, travelling throughout the world and participating in exceptional historical events, hand in hand with his wife, Victoria Kamhi.
This book, thoroughly documented, breaks some of the rules of orthodox biographies and reads like a novel, maintaining the reader's interest from the beginning to the end.
