"A Scene In Between" sets out to excavate the sartorial treasures of this era, spanning; Postcard Records, Creation, C86, shoegaze, and the multifarious micro sub-scenes that sprouted in between.
Sam Knee takes you on a fashion trip from '80 to '88, focusing on the visual racket of these less-documented but pivotal indie bands. Charity shop chic, anoraks, bowlcut haridos, leather trousers, stripy tees and '60s threads became a signature look of the era, and are inspiring many youth looks today.
"A Scene In Between" is made up of photos contributed from archives of original scenesters, band members and budding photographers from the time, featuring hundreds of previously unpublished photographs of bands including Primal Scream, Spacemen 3, The Smiths, My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Talulah Gosh, Vaselines, The Pastels and countless others.
With interviews and ramblings from members of The Pastels, Talulah Gosh and My Bloody Valentine.
