Volumes 5 and 6 (BA 5175 and BA 5176) in the series of Bach?s organ works, which are based on the Neue Bach-Ausgabe (NBA), Series IV, volumes 5 and 6, offer the preludes, toccatas, fantasias and fugues for organ. The present fifth volume brings together the works that embody the ?classic? two-part form of ?prelude (or toccata, or fantasia) and fuge? (BWV 531?550 and 562). Part one
of volume 6 will include the single- and multi-section compositions (BWV 551, 563?566, 568?570, 573?575, 578, and 579); the second part of the volume will offer the early versions and variants of works from both volumes (BWV 532a, 533a, 535a, 536a, 543a, 545a, 549a, 574a and b).
